Irony of Life

Sadness to know what happiness is

Failures to succeed

Noise to appreciate silence

Hurt & pains to get beautiful

Absence to value presence

Losses to gain more

The most beautiful Love, gives the most deepest pain

Unsaying at the right moment

Aging which always doesn't bring wisdom along

No way to happiness, happiness being the way

Product measured by Quality, Performance measured by Quantity

Sunset more colorful than Sunrise

Good things happening with goodbyes

Life still being called fair.

Appointed: BOS for Computer Science at Jain University

I strongly believed that the gap between our today’s academic and the industry requirements is very huge. The course syllabus especially in various Indian Universities for Computer science is very outdated as compared to the technology trends & innovations that are happening.

When I was offered an opportunity to change the above situation I just accepted with honors – Glad & very grateful to be appointed in the Board of Studies for the Department of Computer Science at Jain University.
The Board of Studies under the department of Computer Science is constituted by the competent authority for going through certain proposals for introducing new and innovative programmes in the field of Computer Applications and Information Technology.

As I am committed to give my best to this role I plan to bring in the following:

  •       Computer Science syllabus updated with the latest web & mobile technology
  •      More of practicals, workshops & lab sessions.
  •       Industrial live projects for students to build experience.
  •       Best practices of programming & IT management.

Taking this opportunity to thank Jain University for the belief in me & for driving the change in academics that’s very much needed in the best interest of the students & Industry.

New Role, New Responsibilities, New Goals with Emotion UI

I believe “that the best things that you receive in life are those things you never asked for”.

Being enjoying my role as a Business Developer for Strategic Alliance at Huawei Devices; much satisfied I couldn’t have asked for anything better…but destiny proves itself every time.

This month I officially took up a new role -“Business Operation for Huawei Devices Global ROM Emotion UI

Emotion UI:
Emotion UI is a skin over the base android that would define Smartphone experience on all Huawei Devices. It provides various features such as, interesting navigational experiences that can be easily customized based on one’s personal needs, rich pool of personalized themes that bring a more vivid visual experience with interactive animation that can be changed by simply shaking the phone, pre-installed performance enhancing functions, easy Widgets management, and Presets for driving, attending meetings, and outdoors.

The surprise element in the UI is the way applications are managed (moved, installed, or uninstalled) directly from the home screen without using an app launcher. Widgets can be easily added by pressing and holding a blank section of the wallpaper.

My favorite feature is "Me Widget" - a folder of grouped widgets that the user can customize as a single unit providing quick access to favorite contacts, photo galleries, or music player.
Major responsibility of my team would be to:-
  • Brand Emotion UI: Show how apart from hardware Huawei is also very serious about software innovation
  • User Engagement: Get most of the current Huawei Smartphone users to experience Emotion UI
  • Android Upgrades : Release latest android upgrade along with enhanced user experience with Emotion UI
  • Community building: Creating & building fan clubs who will help us in making Emotion UI the best design for smartphone in the coming days.
Like the fact that Emotion UI was not designed to make users say “wow”, but to make them say “wow that's nice and I did that!

Yes! I am very excited and getting all set to deliver my best in this new role.

Pure as it gets

I went to the St Patrick’s Church today evening and while there I saw this elderly couple, they had to be in their 70s at the very least. But it wasn't their age, her one piece gown; his french beard, her fire engine red hair or even the fact that they had hands holding even while worshiping that had me in awe... but how beautiful and attentive they were to each other.

The love they share was so evident everyone took notice, yet I never saw them even glance at another soul in church, except each other.
Thinking about it now, several hours later, it made realize what they have is what everyone wants in life -love, loyalty & stability.

Lighting up faith @ St Patrick’s church.

After all, do we not all wish to have a life partner to love & cherish into our golden years; I know I do?

How do you witness miracles?

Well I have been asked many times based on the title of my blog, “How do I witness miracles?”
So here I let out the secret, this post is not to motivate, inspire you but to empower you to see miracles that exists on this lovely planet.

We all live in our own comfort zone:
Job were you have settled for years having less challenges & risk
Letting the days pass by, relaxing & doing the same old routine stuff
Closed friends circle the same old talks & fun
Looking at the issues & problems around, helplessly just talking about it & living with it

Beyond the comfort zone lies the Miracles:
It’s the space where you are learning, experiencing new stuff
The space where problems are actually solved
The space where you will witness your dreams becoming reality
The space where you connect with yourself & are the ambassador for joy & success

In-between the comfort zone & miracles is the uninvited guest list:
The black circle is the uninvited guest list
Mr F: Fear which says “What if I fail ……”
Mr D: Doubt which says “Can I do it …
Dream snatchers: That aunty who would say “Why are you doing this…
Mr. Giving: The society rules which say “Think of other first…
The green carpet is where Miracles happen & are witnessed.

Witnessing Miracles:
Aware: Be aware of the above uninvited guest list so that you will not be surprised. When they come over learn the tack to send them back so they don’t appear any more in front of you.

Believe:  Believe harder & live for your dreams & for things that you wish to create

Faith: The almighty lord is always around; he is just like the wind. You got to spread your wings & take the leap of faith to fly. He will give you those small hints & when you are connect well with yourself you can see those & act smartly.

Plan: Don’t plan for failure, plan for the success. Without a plan you can never execute or achieve your dreams.

Fight: Be a fighter, you will not be remembered for giving up or for succeeding. Those who fall, wake up again and still get back in the game are the game changers & are the people who create miracles for themselves & for others to witness.

Selfish: Sacrificing people land up being called fools in today’s society; first learn to receive
enough than you can be a better giver. The only person you got to listen to is yourself and choose staying committed to your wants, desires & dreams over anything on this earth.

Yes! For me some miracles have just happened without me ever seeking it. I decided very early on just to accept life unconditionally. I never expected it to do anything especially for me, yet it seemed to accomplish far more than I had ever hoped.
And
Thus my journey towards witnessing miracles in on….

Android Introduction at Jain University

It was an absolute pleasure to meet the MS - IT students from Jain University and get them introduced to Android during my talk today.
Below are the slides for my talk.

It was an interactive session where the students looked so excited & eager to get their hands dirty on Android Application Development. I faced lots of questions about Android security & some students were a bit upset about Android Fragmentations - Multiple devices & android versions.

All in all had an awesome time with the students & I couldn’t stop blushing when the HOD introduced be as a very young speaker stating, “She just looks like a college student when I see here sitting in the audience in the conference hall, but one coming with lots of experience & energy”.

With these many college visits for Android talks & workshop the only sense that I get is  academies getting so serious about Android so much so that they want to make Android as a Syllabus.

So, great thanks for inviting me & for showing so much of love & respect.
